The Benefits of an Online Degree in Marketing

My Marketing Career

My marketing career began in a tiny self-help marketing company 12 years ago. Armed with an honors degree in English, basic marketing knowledge, huge enthusiasm, and a flair for writing copy. I underwent a steep but rewarding learning curve in the first three years. I was able to do this because I worked so closely with the director, who involved me in everything from market research to sales.

Throughout my marketing career, I knew that a marketing qualification would have made many things easier, both in terms of doing the job and looking for the next step on the ladder. Unfortunately, an online degree was not available in the early nineties.

Twelve years on, I would be lucky to get through the door without a Marketing degree. But if I did, you could be sure that the first thing I would do is consider an online MBA in Marketing.

An Online Degree in Marketing or Marketing MBA?

An online degree in marketing can be at associate, bachelors or masters level, depending on your level of experience. You will cover distribution, sales, advertising, packaging, pricing, and retailing, preparing you for a range of marketing careers and giving you the opportunity for further study. You will probably need to be a business or marketing graduate who works in marketing to prepare for a Marketing MBA.

An online degree or Marketing MBA is ideal for marketing or sales professionals. Chat rooms and forums form a large part of your study, allowing you to share ideas with other students from the comfort and convenience of your own home. You will need self-discipline, but it will all be worth it.

I barely missed the bandwagon, twelve years ago, but it's not too late for you. I wish the Internet had been around back then! I would have taken advantage of a Marketing MBA.
