Lindsay Lohan is allegedly planning to follow in the footsteps of Jodie Foster, Brooke Shields, Natalie Portman and the Olsen twins and undertake a collage degree. She is hoping to study in New York, her home city, as it has such good flight links for the jetset actress/singer.
A college degree is a good way for actors and actresses to get a taste of the “real world,” but you have to wonder how much these people can really interact.. Maybe some actors thirsty for knowledge and credibility should consider an online degree.
Many universities offer flexibility in study these days, offering students a combination of traditional and online learning. This type of degree would suit both actors and actresses who live in an unreal world, and poorer students who need to fund their study.
Online or otherwise, we wish Lindsay Lohan luck with her degree. Mary Kate has allegedly already taken some time out, so let’s hope that it all works out for them. Anything to give us a rest from teen movies.

Not content with being married to Britney and being the proud father of three, Kevin Federline has been working on a new rap album. Unfortunately, if the unkind reports about the copies leaked to the Internet are true, 50 cent and Eminem don’t need to worry just yet.

In truth, ever since he became the new Mr Spears, the paparazzi (or pavarotti as he called them) has been commenting on Kevin Federline’s lack of gainful employment. This is perhaps a little unfair - do trophy wives come under such scrutiny? But the truth is, even the richest people these days seem to revel in a hard work ethic, and even those who don’t - such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie, can at least attempt to “work” for our general amusement.

Most of us of course need to work for a living - often in careers that we hate, or at least feel underused in. While recording unnecessary rap records is not really an option for us, online degrees could be a more satisfying and, in the case of Kevin’s efforts, more lucrative alternative. Online degrees in areas such as marketing, accounting or networking can enhance, or transform existing careers.

Kevin Federline would be well advised to turn to an online degree in accounting to help manage his wife’s affairs. That way, he could join the long list of manager/spouses and gain some much needed credibility. After all, if his adoring wife doesn’t think much of it, most of us aren’t likely to either. Work these days is all about enhancing and developing ourselves - and online degrees can do just that.
